Our mission, as the Greater Bay Area RIC, is to ensure that all students in California have access to high quality curriculum and instruction through the state's language arts programs, in order to meet or exceed the state's English-language arts content standards.
As of January 1, 2007, the Reading Lions Center at the Sacramento County Office of Education has been authorized as a State provider for SB 472 Professional Development Institutes Reading for the following publishers: Houghton Mifflin Reading: A Legacy of Literacy, K-6; SRA/Open Court Reading 2000, K-5; and SRA/Open Court Reading 2002, K-6, and the alternative Spanish version of the following publishers: Houghton Mifflin Lectura, K-3; and SRA Foro abierto para la lectura, K-3.
The Reading Lions Center represents a network of Reading Implementation Centers that will deliver the Center's authorized courses throughout the state during the 2007-2008 season. The Reading Implementation Centers (RIC) association includes:
